My Exact 3 Days in Denver Itinerary (After 5 Visits)
I’ve been to Denver five times now, and this is the 3 days in Denver itinerary I’d hand my best friend. No fluff, no filler. Just exactly where to go, what to eat, and what to skip.
Day 1: Downtown & Beer
- Start at Union Station. Grab the pancake flight at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery ($16). Yes, there’s a line. It moves fast. Get the Pineapple Upside Down pancake — I’ve ordered it three trips in a row and never regretted it.
- Walk to Denver Milk Market for lunch. Hit Mojo Taqueria inside. Two carnitas tacos and street corn for about $20. That corn is loaded with so much cotija cheese you’ll think about it weeks later.
- Spend the afternoon at Meow Wolf. $50 entry sounds steep, but it’s worth every dollar. It’s a four-story interactive art experience that feels like walking through a fever dream. Find the spaceship room — best photo spot in the whole city.
- End at Cherry Creek Beer Garden. Burger and a local beer for $22. Fire pits, outdoor seating, and the sunset hits different here. I’ve spent three separate evenings at this spot.
Day 2: Mountains & Red Rocks
- Get to Red Rocks Amphitheatre by 8 AM. It’s free during the day when there’s no show. Walk the stairs to the top row — your legs will burn, but the view of downtown framed by red stone walls is unreal. I’ve done this hike three times and it never gets old.
- Drive 15 minutes to Golden. This old cowboy town looks like a movie set. Eat at Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza — $18 for all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar. Pro tip: dip the crust in honey. Sounds weird. Just do it.
- Head back to LoHi in the afternoon. Little Man Ice Cream is shaped like a giant milk can. The line looks scary but moves in 10 minutes. Get Space Junk ($7) — brownies and candy mixed in.
- Dinner at Linger. Yes, it used to be a funeral home. Now it’s a rooftop restaurant with the best city view in Denver. Get the bao buns and sweet potato waffle fries ($40 total). Worth every penny.
Day 3: RiNo & Departure
- Coffee at Crema Coffee House in RiNo Art District. Latte and quiche for $15. Every wall in this neighborhood has a massive mural. Walk the alleys — the colorful geometric faces mural is my favorite photo backdrop in all of Denver.
- Grab lunch at Denver Central Market. High & Dry makes a turkey club that’ll ruin all other sandwiches for you ($16). Great people-watching spot, too.
- See the Big Blue Bear before you leave. It’s a 40-foot blue sculpture peeking into the Convention Center windows. Free, iconic, takes five minutes. Stand between his giant blue feet for the photo.
- End at City Park. Walk to Ferril Lake. The Denver skyline with snow-capped mountains behind it looks like a postcard. Perfect goodbye to the city.
