You Are Going to Love Denver! Here is Your Perfect 3-Day Plan!
OMG! I am so happy you are finally going to Denver! You are going to have the best time ever. The air is so fresh, the mountains are huge, and the food is literally to die for. I’ve been there a bunch of times, so I wrote down everything you need to do so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Get ready because this weekend is going to be epic!
Day 1: Cool Trains, Big Art, and Yummy Tacos
Start your first morning at Union Station. It is not just for trains! It looks like a giant, fancy living room. Go straight to Snooze, an A.M. Eatery. There is always a line, but it is worth it. You HAVE to order the Pancake Flight. It costs about $16 and you can pick three different types of pancakes. Get the Pineapple Upside Down one. It is sweet and so good! After you eat, walk around the station. Stand right in the middle of the Great Hall for a photo. The big windows make you look like a movie star!
Next, walk over to the Denver Milk Market for lunch. It is like a giant playground for food. Budget about $20 for this. My favorite spot inside is Mojo Taqueria. Get two carnitas tacos and a side of street corn. The corn has so much cheese on it, you will dream about it later. Why is it cool? Because you can sit at a big long table and see everyone walking by in their cool outfits.
After lunch, you are going to Meow Wolf Denver. This place is crazy! It is a giant art building where you can touch everything. It costs about $50 to get in, but trust me, it’s worth it. You walk through a “multiverse” and there are neon colors everywhere. Make sure you find the room that looks like a spaceship. Stand right under the glowing lights for the coolest photo of your whole trip. It feels like you are on another planet!
For dinner, head to Cherry Creek. It’s a fancy neighborhood, but it’s fun to look around. Go to Cherry Creek Beer Garden. You can get a big burger and a soda for around $22. It’s outside and they have fire pits. It feels so cozy when the sun goes down!
Day 2: Red Rocks and Mountain Vibes
Wake up early because we are going to the mountains! You need to go to Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Even if there isn’t a concert, it is free to visit during the day. Those giant red rocks are taller than buildings! Walk all the way to the top of the stairs. It is a workout, and your legs might burn a little, but the view of the city is amazing. Stand on the very top row and stretch your arms out for a photo. You will look like the king or queen of the world!
After your hike, drive 15 minutes to a town called Golden. It looks like an old cowboy town from a movie. Stop at Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza. They have an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad bar for $18. The crust is thick and chewy, and they have honey on the table to dip it in. It sounds weird, but it is delicious! Walk by the creek after lunch. You might even see people floating in tubes on the water.
In the afternoon, head back to Denver to the LoHi neighborhood. This stands for Lower Highland. You have to get ice cream at Little Man Ice Cream. It is shaped like a giant milk can! The line is long but it moves fast. Order the “Space Junk” flavor for about $7. It has brownies and candy in it. Take a photo holding your cone right in front of the big metal milk can. It is the most famous photo spot in Denver!
For dinner, go to Linger. It used to be a funeral home (creepy but cool!), and now it is a hip restaurant. They have food from all over the world. Get the bao buns and the sweet potato waffle fries. It will cost you about $40, but the view from the rooftop is the best in the city. You can see all the bright lights of downtown.
Day 3: Street Art and the Big Blue Bear
On your last day, we are going to the RiNo Art District. RiNo stands for River North. This place is covered in paintings! Every wall has a huge mural on it. Start at Crema Coffee House. Get a latte and a quiche for about $15. Then, just walk down the alleys. My favorite mural is the one with the colorful geometric faces. Stand about five feet away and have someone take your picture while you look at the wall. You will look so artsy!
For lunch, go to the Denver Central Market. It is another big food hall. Go to High & Dry for a sandwich. A big turkey club will cost you about $16. It is a great place to sit and relax because the music is always good and people-watching is 10/10.
Before you leave, you have to see the Big Blue Bear. He is a 40-foot tall blue bear peeking into the Convention Center windows. He is so cute and silly! Stand right between his giant blue feet for a photo. It’s free and totally iconic. Why is it cool? Because it makes you feel like a tiny ant next to a giant toy!
Finish your trip at City Park. Walk toward the Ferril Lake. If you stand at the edge of the lake, you can see the Denver skyline with the snowy mountains right behind it. It looks like a postcard! It’s the perfect way to say goodbye to the city.
