YOU HAVE TO GO TO FLORIDA RIGHT NOW!

Oh my gosh, bestie! I just saw some crazy news and I had to tell you! Travel + Leisure (TNL) just put out their big money report and they are doing SO good. Like, they made way more money than people thought they would. Do you know what that means? It means everyone is traveling again! The world is open and people are spending money to have fun. We cannot be the only ones sitting at home. We need to get a trip on the calendar right this second!

I was thinking about where you should go next, and since the news is about a Florida company and the vibes are so high right now, you HAVE to do a road trip from Miami down to Key West. It is the best trip I have ever taken. It is sunny, the food is amazing, and you will get the best photos for your feed. Seriously, your phone is going to run out of space because everything looks so cool!

First Stop: Miami Magic

Okay, so you start in Miami. Do not just go to the regular tourist spots. You need to head straight to South Beach, but do it the right way. First thing you do is go to a place called 11th Street Diner. It looks like a big silver train car from the old days. It is so shiny! Go inside and order the “Double Cheeseburger” with a side of onion rings. It will cost you exactly $16. It is huge and tastes like heaven. While you are there, take a photo sitting at the counter with a milkshake. It looks so retro and cool!

After you eat, walk over to the beach. You know those colorful houses where the lifeguards sit? They are everywhere! Don’t just take a photo of the first one you see. Walk down to the one that is painted like a giant American flag or the one that is bright pink and purple. Stand right under the stairs and look up at the sky. It makes you look like a model! After that, head over to Wynwood. It is a neighborhood where all the walls are covered in giant paintings. You have to find the wall with the giant gold face. Stand right in the middle of it. It’s free to walk around, but you should buy a coffee at Panther Coffee for $6. It’s the strongest coffee ever, and you’ll need the energy!

The Long Drive Down (The Best Part!)

Now, you need to rent a car. If you want to be cheap, get a little Nissan. If you want to be a boss, get a Jeep with no roof! You are going to drive on the Overseas Highway. It is one long road that goes over the ocean for miles and miles. It looks amazing because there is blue water on both sides of you. You will feel like you are flying!

About an hour in, stop at a place called “Robbie’s Marina” in Islamorada. This place is wild. You pay $5 for a bucket of little fish. Then, you go out on the dock and feed these giant fish called Tarpon. They are like six feet long! They jump out of the water to grab the fish from your hand. It is kind of scary but so much fun! Stand at the very end of the dock for the best photo of the big fish jumping. Just watch out for the pelicans. They are mean and will try to steal your bucket! Budget about $20 here for the fish and a soda.

Next, keep driving until you hit Marathon. You have to drive over the Seven Mile Bridge. It is exactly what it sounds like—a bridge that is seven miles long! Turn off your music, roll down the windows, and just listen to the wind. It is so peaceful. Stop at the parking lot right before the bridge starts. You can walk out on the old bridge that is just for people. Stand right in the middle and have someone take a picture of you with the new bridge in the background. It looks like the road goes on forever!

Key West: The Island Life

You finally made it to the end of the road! Key West is like a different world. Everyone rides bikes and nobody is in a hurry. You need to go to the “Southernmost Point” buoy. It is a big concrete thing that looks like a giant battery. There is ALWAYS a line of people waiting to take a photo. Do not go at noon! You will melt in the sun. Go at 7:30 in the morning. There will be no line, and the light is perfect. It costs $0 to stand there and look cool.

For lunch, you are going to DJ’s Clam Shack. They were on TV! Order the “Overstuffed Lobster Roll.” It is $30, which sounds like a lot, but they put so much lobster on it that it falls off the bread. It is buttery and delicious. For dessert, you have to go to Kermit’s Key Lime Shoppe. They take a slice of Key Lime Pie, put it on a stick, and dip the whole thing in dark chocolate. It is $7 and it will change your life. Stand in front of their bright green door to eat it. It makes for a great “foodie” photo!

At night, everyone goes to Mallory Square for the sunset. There are magicians, jugglers, and even cats that jump through hoops of fire! It is totally free to watch. Stand right by the water’s edge about 20 minutes before the sun goes down. The sky turns orange and purple and it looks so cool. After the sun hides, everyone claps! It is the happiest place ever.
