This New Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Hotel With a Panoramic Rooftop Pool Is the Perfect Pre-Cruise Stay

Hey bestie! I am so incredibly happy for you! You are finally going on that cruise, and I know you are going to have the best time ever. But listen, you cannot just fly in the morning of your ship leaving. That is way too stressful! You need to get to Fort Lauderdale a day early so you can relax and start the party early. I found the absolute perfect spot for you to stay. It is the brand-new Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, and it is seriously amazing!

I saw this and immediately thought of you. It is not just a regular hotel. It is huge, it is shiny, and it is right where all the action is. It just opened up, so everything is clean and smells brand new. The best part? It is literally right next to the water where the cruise ships park. You can basically wave at your ship from the window!

The Rooftop Pool is Everything!

Okay, we have to talk about the pool first because it is the coolest part of the whole building. It is on the rooftop, and the views are wild. You can see the whole ocean and all the big ships. Most pools are just on the ground, but this one makes you feel like you are flying.

Where to take your photos: Go to the far left corner of the pool deck right when the sun starts to go down. The light hits the water and makes everything look gold. Stand there with a drink in your hand and look out at the ocean. Your followers are going to go crazy for that photo! It looks like you own the whole city.

What to order: You have to get the “Tropical Breeze” drink. It comes in a tall glass with a big piece of pineapple on top. It costs $17, but it is worth it for the vibe. If you get hungry while tanning, order the fish tacos. They are $22, and they give you three big ones. They are super fresh and don’t feel too heavy before you go swimming.

The Rooms are So Comfy

The rooms at the Omni are not boring at all. They have these massive windows that go from the floor all the way to the ceiling. If you get a room on a high floor, you can wake up and see the sun coming up over the Atlantic Ocean. It is way better than an alarm clock!

The beds are like big white clouds. I’m not kidding, you will want to sleep in, but don’t! You have a cruise to catch! Also, the bathrooms are huge. There is plenty of room for you to do your hair and makeup without feeling cramped. They have these fancy soaps that smell like lemons and sea salt. I might have accidentally put a couple extra in my bag because they smell so good!

What to Do Nearby

Since you are staying right at the Port Everglades area, you are close to everything. If you want to go for a walk, head over to the 17th Street Bridge. It is a bit of a climb, but it is free and gives you the best view of the million-dollar yachts. Seeing those boats will make you even more excited for your cruise ship!

For dinner, you should take a quick Uber over to Las Olas Boulevard. It’s the street where everyone hangs out. It costs about $11 to get there. Go to a place called “El Camino.” It is a Mexican spot that is always loud and fun. Order the steak fajitas for $28. They bring them out on a sizzling metal plate and everyone will look at your table because it smells so good. If you want something cheaper, just get the chips and guac for $14. It’s enough to share!

The Morning of Your Cruise

This is why this hotel is the best. On the morning your cruise leaves, you don’t have to hurry. You can have a nice breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Order the “South Florida Omelet.” It has avocado and peppers and costs $21. It will keep you full so you don’t have to wait in the long buffet lines as soon as you get on the ship.

When it is time to go, just call an Uber. Since the hotel is right at the port entrance, the ride will only cost you about $9. You will be at the ship in less than 10 minutes. No stress, no rushing, just pure fun!

Money Stuff: Budget vs. Balling Out

I know you like to save money sometimes, but other times you want to treat yourself. Here is a quick guide on what you might spend for one night at the Omni Fort Lauderdale before your cruise.

What You’re BuyingThe “Save Your Money” WayThe “Balling Out” Way
The Room$280 (Standard King)$550 (Ocean View Suite)
Dinner & Drinks$45 (Tacos and a Soda)$130 (Steak, Appetizers, and Cocktails)
Breakfast$12 (Coffee and a Muffin)$35 (Full Buffet and Mimosa)
Getting Around$20 (Walking and one Uber)$60 (Private Car Service)
Total for 1 Night$357$775

Whatever you choose, you are going to have a blast. Even if you stay in the cheapest room, you still get to use that amazing rooftop pool. That is the real reason to stay here!

One Last Tip!

Make sure you pack your swimsuit in your carry-on bag! If your room isn’t ready when you get to the hotel, you can just change in the bathroom and head straight to the 29th floor. You can start working on your tan before you even check in. Also, don’t forget your sunscreen. Florida sun is no joke, and a sunburn on day one of a cruise is the worst thing ever. Get the SPF 50!

I am so excited to see all your photos. Please send me a video of the view from your balcony as soon as you get there! You deserve this break so much. Have the best time, eat all the food, and dance on that ship!
