Grand Sirenis in Riviera Maya Resort & Spa. Wonderful but really futuristic property from the moment you walk the lobby you realize that it is very contemporary very minimalist of you either absolutely love thinto at or you absolutely hate that I loved it I thought it was a great feature in terms of a property that really did take a different concept of things so it’s still very Mayan in the design of the resort itself but at a very contemporary level very clean lines My first sort of impression is that it’s huge it is definitely laid out across a fair sized acreage there is a lot of walking involved with this property so from the lobby to potentially get to your room or to the beach there is definitely quite a bit of walking involved they do offer shuttles from the lobby to the beach and also from the lobby to different restaurants the beach is actually in a bit of a Cove so the water is fairly protected from you know Larger waves but definitely beautiful whites and definitely a swimming beach quite a bit of walking to do there there are actually some ancient Mayan ruins on that beach they’re not as developed as to Loomer Chichen Itza but they are there so it’s nice having that history there – if you want to check that out the pool at this property is a really great size it’s a crescent moon shape there’s a lazy river that runs through this property as well so definitely Great for swimmers there are junior suites on this property 80% of them have a separated washroom from the main living area but there’s still 20% of this property that you can actually see into the washer so you’ve got to make sure to request that room category if you’re a couple there is a kid’s program for four to twelve year olds and that is offered inclusive in this package food was exceptional great service the quality of Food seven restaurants and total as far as ala carte dining goes and then a buffet restaurant on top of that and that’s all-inclusive you have Italian you have Brazilian you have so many to choose from it’s still coming in at a great value for what you’re getting you’re getting ample dining selection you’re getting a great stretch of beach you’re getting a well-appointed room it’s definitely worth the money.

Cindy and I continue to hunt for which resorts we want to go back to in the Riviera Maya or whether we want to look at new resorts, which brings us to the Grand Sirenis. We’ve been at the Sirenis several times; it’s a completely different resort than anything you’ve seen in the Riviera Maya before; most of the resorts are Colorful; they’re based on colonial architecture; this thing looks modern; it’s concrete, you don’t see the colors, and yet it’s friendly, somehow something about it makes you feel at home… that could be part of the staff it could be the great services they offer but it’s a very good feeling resort and obviously that’s all we have returned time and again, and I recommend this resort for people we are being taken on a tour of their spa and the Sireni’s spa that’s the manager there of the resort not just a spa but he was taking us to the spa for a tour and it they have a dedicated spa it’s about five minutes walking from the accommodations it’s all by itself in the jungle and it’s to me probably the best spa that we have seen in the Riviera Maya at any resort, I mean we’re not talking about old day spa you might encounter back home in a mall or you know hotel or whatever this is a huge Dedicated spa that has me questioning like who comes up with all these different treatments where do they get it from whether you want to be covered in oils and muds and drew ain’t no baked or whatever they got so many different treatment rooms and it’d be ideal for anyone with a birthday anniversary a wedding party or if you just feel like you deserve and you want to treat yourself but if you take a look have the rooms have double beds double Everything because it’s not just about one person that’s one of those things you know you wonder where do they come up with that it’s like you’re being baked all the different jets for giving different treatments and stuff so… whether you want to treat yourself or you and your spouse when I have a great experience together it’s all available and they are serious like I said about a spa treatment because it is dedicated it is by itself and the craziest Contraptions in the jungle the mighty jungle and you can stop and have yourself some juice from the juice bar this room was really wild because above the lights are supposed to be like the stars and you’re in the dark you got sound cut off everything again feeling relaxed and in today’s world with all the anxiety and tensions and stuff that’s going on I’m sure they’re getting a relaxing treatment is something a person can get used to very easily Including this old fashioned wouldn’t pail that dumps water on you now I still remember these two ladies they were from Manchester UK loving the spa and what’s there not to love when you’ve got the jungle as your backdrop now as I said this is a dedicated Spa by itself so Cindy and I took a walk back from the spa and although it’s not a typical sandy beach that you would expect the scenery is spectacular it’s rugged it’s beautiful and it’s warm Now the grants eeriness is located kind of between Playa del Carmen and Tulum so it may be about 20-25 minutes from Playa del Carmen 2025 minutes to Tulum probably about an hour and 15 minutes from the airport it is a standalone resort versus resorts like imply a car where you have the resorts all next to each other they have a protected Cove and the importance of that comes in when you’re snorkeling or doing water sports it’s a Natural cold outside the cove the water can be rough you can see waves breaking on rocks and you come into this little cove and it’s very calm which makes it safe for kids and snorklers and people who have never used a kayak or whatever again all these old things are important to note along with the fact that they have their own Mayan ruin on the site as a protect you can see the waves breaking out there on the rocks but in this Cove it’s relatively calm you don’t Get this in brochures and you also don’t get it if you just walk through a resort and you’re not watching for stuff you recognize this when you’re staying at a resort for a time being and you experience the things that it has to offer and if you got kids you’re going to feel safer or letting them snorkel in an area that is protected and safer than in an open ocean where they can get into.
On the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach, they have a beautiful little snack bar that offers different varieties of food and drinks and at other times they have stuff like cooking demonstrations here or the serious sound band which is one of the best bands that any resort plays on the beach, i absolutely loved it it was the most incredible experience and incredible because you’re in a beautiful setting you’re listening to Latin music And good music but you can see here the difference if you’re looking out towards the ocean that sky was blue err and you look back you can see these threatening clouds coming in and even that made for excellent video air was warm and a couple we don’t know where they were from but they were having a heck of a lot of fun with seagulls and seagulls would go after french fries or whatever you wanted to feed them and there is a warning on that Front though because I just about got bombed by a seagull so be cautious I’ve often said that a vacation or a travel is about bringing back experiences that will last with you for forever basically and it can be anything it can be something as simple as birds flying overhead incidentally the skies.
Their Lobby has bars and live music playing at night so that’s a great place To relax and we talk with people there from Ontario from Quebec from United States different parts Michigan and stuff like that so you can have an international mix of people the shows that the grants are in serenus are really great shows they have a variety of them you can see that this is Greece but at different times they have probably one of the best shows on Lion King that I’ve seen at any resort they have tribute to rock and roll all kinds Of different shows and it’s pretty professional in their execution and quality which is important because I mean if you’re there and it gets dark around 7 o’clock you’ve had a great dinner possibly at the buffet or one of the other carte restaurants and now you’ve had a few drinks relaxed shows start around 9:30 quarter to 10:00 and it’s a great place to sit before you head off to the disco because there’s just so many different things to do, the Grand Sirenis Resort has a great band, it is live performances which which adds a genuine quality to it many resorts what they have is lip singing and their entertainment staff comes from around the world, there’s artists from Canada, United States, Europe and all over the world.
